GNU Chess
GNU Chess is a chess-playing program. It can be used to play chess against the computer on a terminal or, more commonly, as a chess engine for graphicalchess frontends such as XBoard.
The current version is 6.2.7. The 6.2.x series includes the following features with respect to previous 6.1.x:
Windows Installer 6.0 is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 and 2012 R2. For Windows XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, you must download Windows Installer 4.5. Most computers can run NetLogo (see system requirements).
- 'Tighter connection' with XBoard by means of an engine file and alogo, as expected by XBoard (>= 4.6.0).

GNU Chesscan be found on the main GNU ftp server:http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/chess/(via HTTP) andftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/chess/(via FTP). It can also be foundon the GNU mirrors;pleaseusea mirror if possible.

Security reports that should not be made immediately public can besent directly to the maintainer. If there is no response to an urgentissue, you can escalate to the generalsecuritymailing list for advice.
